VIDEO: Weezer — the most fun I've ever had doing an interview

I look back on road-tripping to interview Rivers Cuomo and Scott Shriner with the most rabid Weezer fan I know.

What’s the most fun I’ve ever had conducting an interview? Well, there was the time I had an anxiety attack at an interview subject’s house and had to finish asking my questions while reclined on the couch in his apartment after he’d given me some of his beta blockers! That wasn’t exactly fun in the moment, but I look back on it as a good time because, of course, it’s hilarious to think about now.

Sadly, I don’t have video footage, otherwise I’d share it with you. But I do have the full audio of me sitting down with Weezer bassist Scott Shriner and bandleader Rivers Cuomo on the same day — which, thankfully, turned out to be anxiety-free.

The video above contains excerpts from those interviews. Paying subscribers get access to the full audio:

FYI, I decided to drop my video “intro” in after the excerpts. I tell the backstory and explain why these two conversations still stand out for me as one of my all-time career highlights.

You also won’t want to miss my new discussion on the 30th anniversary of Weezer’s debut album with superfan “Weezer” Steve:

Enjoy! Your continued support and interest means the world. <3 SRK
